IF in doubt just follow the kit's recommendations for Tamiya paints. If it is a reissue it will recommend a TS range for the body, probably TS-17 Gloss Aluminium. If original issue it will recommend some other bottle paint or mix.

Read the FAQ and how to's in the mean time, when the kit arrives, read the instructions.

If you want to build the model anywhere near accurate, yes you do need all of them.
Keep in mind, if you keep at car modelling, most of those colors you'll only buy once.

No, Tamiya makes all their kits with little tabs so they simply snap together....

You are an evil, evil man Ray.
The paints on the Tamiya site are the SUGGESTED paints required. You can build and paint your model any way you want too. Yes you will have to glue this one together, or you can put the glue in the box and shake it up and a perfectly built Tamiya will come out.

There should be some builds in the Motorsport section and also probably some reference photos as well.
You aren't a friend of Nigel's by any chance, are you? aka Arni :)

Tamiya C9 kit was conceived as a fully detailed static model with a removable engine cover and engine details. The 962 kit, on the other hand, was converted from an easy-to-build R/C kit. That's why the body is made as one piece with molded-in clear parts and a shallow recess on the doors. In short, the C9 kit is nothing like the 962 kit. Actually, the 962 (and a few more "converted" static models) is an exception.

Great! The only tamiya kits i had done before getting the 962 were 1:20 F1 kits so i was obviously a little dissapointed when i got the porsche.
Klutz,I know a "Nigel" here in Ireland that used to work in my shop.is that who you mean? probably not but i just made the connection because he has a few Polish friends:confused:
