Any idea how or who can fabricate 1/12th scale GTR wheels (and approximate costs) if I was to get someone to convert a 1/12th scale into a HDF kitted F1?

I'd start with some of the model engineering sites and/or magazines. The guys who make those miniature steam engines and so on. There are many different CNC mills and lathes either on the market or buildable from plans and you would need access to that sort of equipment to make accurate miniature wheels.
A company like http://www.scalemotorsport.com/default.asp would have the technology to produce something like this along with many other parts for the model but it would be a very hard job to convince them that there is sufficient demand for commercial viability and they would not produce a one-off.
I know perhaps one model builder with the skills - this man has gone to jewellery school to learn casting, hand-engraving and silver soldering, bookbinding school to learn to work with thin leather to make his own seats, etc, etc. He makes his own wheels and other parts. His models are fantastic but he does not work cheap!

Lego has a kit for the Enzo (though it's not very good). I wish they'd make one for the McLaren. You would then have very nice wheels! :)

Try this place.....

The wheels on his 1:12 F50-GT kit might be suitable for the Mclaren. Also, he might be able to fabricate the other parts for you.
Warning - make sure your sitting down when you look at his prices. His F50-GT kit costs as much as the car itself !!! I wont even dare to guess the price he will charge for custom work.

He's got one on there now starting for $999. His transkit has received some criticism on Ferrarichat - where the creator, Michael, participates.

Once in a blue moon - and, mostly, to check up on the antics of someone I know who is a Ferrari owner.
I'm honestly not much into Ferraris - but, then again, I've got a much better chance of owning a Ferrari than an F1! :eek7:

I've actually made my own "OZ" wheels out of the old ones on the 1:12 model. They are not exactly like the real ones, but neither are those F50GT wheels as they're Speedline replicas.
I was considering buying that transkit for the F50 as well, but I'm not convinced it's worth that $$ as It's extremely difficult to make a 1:12 perfect as all the flaws will be so damn visible!
That has been my main concern with the 1:12 LM I'm building as well, I can't get it god enough as I'm VERY picky on details.....:-(
