Need help w/ '00 Passat 4motion suspension

I have an '00 Passat 4motion whose suspension has begun to feel very floaty when going over speed bumps/humps and on the freeway. It has about 61K miles on it and has never had the shocks/struts replaced. So my question is this, what does this vehicle use? Shocks? Struts? What do i need to replace? Where should I go to buy the replacements, and how much should it cost me? I've replaced the struts on my Pontiac Grand Prix by myself before, so I'm willing to do the labor myself, but I have no idea what parts this car needs. Thanks in advance for any help.

check the control arms in the front. you can tell the shocks are bad if you press hard on every corner and the car bounces more than 2 times.
