67 250s (Any Mechanics?)

Hi guys I have a 1967 250s that would not idle in gear. At first when the choke flaps opens after warm up it shuts off. so i went in to both carbs and cleaned them out. Now it idles but not when i put it in Drive of reverse it would cut off... Help.

I'm not a mechanic, but first thing that comes to mind would be a fuel cut off switch.. I have a Mercedes Tech support number that I use religiously.. It is # 201-476-6200.. This is a number for the National Headquarters in North America.. I used to work at this building, and these tech guys know there stuff..
