the dash warning lamp showing two (2) icons one is a pictograph of a brake i guess with the letter "I" in it the other with the letter "P" in it. the light is light. when i push on the parking brake the lights get brighter. When i release the parking brake the ligh dims but does not go out. the master cylnder is full, i have pulled all four wheel and inspected the brakes. Plenty of thickness on the pads same on the rear shoes. no leaks or signs of fluid loss. all cables lines and the two 9wires) i found attached to brake components are all clean and intact no rub marks or burn throughs. the booster does not appear to be leaking vacum. I'm at a loss as i don't know excatly what the dash light indicates and everything appears fine

I have the same problem with my 1989 S-10 4.3L TBI. What did you find was the cause of the bright-dim phenomenon?

What year is the truck? I have had problems with brake lights before in my early models of S=10s . Check the switch on the parking break. It could be making lite contact and cause the problem. On my old 87 the mixing valve went out. This is the valve just under the master cylinder. This threw a light on my dash also.

That I you mentioned is actually an exclamation mark,( ! ) meaning you have a problem with your brakes and needs immediate attention. You have a problem with air in your brakes, brake worn down, or caliper stuck. It would be in your best interrest to get it checked out. You may have brakes now, but you may hit the pedal and not have them when you need them. How does you pedal feel when you apply the brakes.
