Painting my Interior...

I own a 1990 Acura Integra and my Inerior is all black......what are some good step to change that besides having to replace the whole thing....i mean can i paint it??? My car is white and i want to get some black with chrome rims and i want my interior to be white and black.....any ideas to make a good change.....

Yes, many things can be painted or reapolstered, I forget who makes it but they actually make interior paint, primer & clear. You could also do relatively easy things such as wrapping the door panels or parts of them in new material, I'll be doing mine in red to get the CTR style. I really don't reccomend doing the paint though because it looks ugly after awhile and after a longer time it starts to peel and crack.

You can paint my buddy painted his and its lasted for three or four years without chipping or cracking but he spent hella time doing prep work on the peices for the dash.... it'll work but the outcome all depends on how good of a job you want to do prepping everything.

yeah, i painted parts of my interior, i sanded down every thing and did all that, and it look greg, but its started to deteriorate, and now im not very happy with it, think im gunna repaint it with better paint, cause i have seen people do it and it looks amazing, but if you goin to paint, dont cut corners, do it real good

SEM makes a good vinyl paint. We use it a lot to paint video housings at the shop, and it comes in plenty of different color choices. I'd check around to any body shop supply stores in your area to find it. Be careful when you paint, though, and don't go overboard. I've seen many a potentially cool paint job gone terribly wrong because the person painted every little thing they could get their hands on. :P

Man, im in the middle of painting mine and the best thing to do is get SEM color coat, specially made for painting interiors or other plastics.

1. Clean every part that you want to paint with rubbing alchohol, and scrub with a grey scuff and scrub pads. repeat a few time till clean. rinse after with water and let dry over night.

2.Since your interior is black, buy sailcloth white and give it a nice light coat with the white, very light coats to eleminate all fish eyes. Let it dry for an hour then continue with whatever other color u want to use.

3. dont rush and make sure the pannels are nice and clean before painting. painting is 98% prep.
