I just recently won a big 16g turbo on ebay for 255.00 :ylsuper: and i know it is missing the big goldish silver thing form the top i was wondering what it is called. there is a rod connecting to it from the housing to the turbo and was wondering what it does and if the 14b onw will fit on it. here is the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=8012954877&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT

I hate to tell you this, but that is not an evoiii 16g turbo. I don't know what it is, but from the auction it sounds like it's from the new evo's, in which case, the turbo spins the opposite way and won't work without MAJOR modification to your car.
Fortunately for you, he said in his auction that it will "bolt on" which it clearly won't, so you can get your money back for false information.
EDIT: I saw some more false info. He says it will bolt onto a "1g", but look at that turbine housing, no way that fits a stock manifold, I've never even seen that housing.
Just for your information, don't buy a turbo off of ebay. There is no way to tell the condition of the turbo, you can't physically check for shaft play or how freely it spins. Either buy locally used or buy new online. Good luck.

I bought off of ebay, and got a fine turbo, but with that said if you are going to buy off ebay always check out their feedback and look for like items of the one you are going to bid on because if he has bad feedback for the item then obviously he is running a scam

I'm glad you read my post before you dished out the cash for that turbo ;)
That would have sucked when you try to bolt that on.

Buying a new turbo off eBay isn't a bad bet, for the right price, but buying a used turbo from anywhere is a gamble. I agree that eBay sells shadier stuff used than other places, from my own experience.

Only thing that was bad with the turbo I bought was a bent up water line, other then that its perfect.

I think ebay gets a lot a of bad rep cause some people use any chance to scam people out of money. If something seems shady than it probably is, in this case the person probably made an honest mistake. If you buy name products from sellers with good feedback you should be ok.
