Make sure you put the right bulbs in.

Im pretty sure the bulbs are the right ones. anything else that could be wrong. im thinking it is something electrical, maybe a short or something. I dont know. if it is a short in the wiring how do i fix it. thanks

it sounds like a bad ground. there are a number of places where a bunch of wires come together (a block or harness) and mount to the frame of the vehicle (the ground). if the connection to the frame is bad then weird shit will happen like lights working and not working, etc. i had a 68 lemans as a little project a few years back - whenever you hit the brakes it would shut the radio off (it was blowing the radio fuse because of the short)

speaking of which - have you checked all your fuses? one might be almost dead, which wuold cause the rediculous shit to keep happening.

the harness that connects the p-light could be FUBAR.

the list goes on. start at the fuse block and check them all (you might have two different fuseblocks, one in the cab on the driver's side on the side of the dash - and one underhood.). from there, go to the malfunctioning light, check the plug on the back of it, and work your way back until you find a problem like a frayed wire, or corroded ground...

it's a bit time consuming, but it isnt difficult.
