Yeah, but I doubt it was a "race chip". Whats that sensor that you unplug so you can start the engine with out pushing in the clutch? Well, just unplug it and install the starter (I think). My brother had one of those on an old Sunbird or Sunfire or some shit and I think thats how they got it to work with a manual.

It's not rare or anything, just most places won't install remote start on cars because if you remote start the car and it's in gear. Well you get the point.

all places around here will install remote start on manual, there is a series of steps you go threw to activate it when you shut your car down. When a shop does it, its perfectly safe and flawless!!!

Me too! So... It's called clutch diable switch.

Anywho, it's illegal for shops to install remote starts on manuals. Worked at a Circuit City, and now at a Best Buy, they cannot do it. Illegal.

I had a remote start in my old auto Dsm. I wanted to install it into my 5spd dsm, but have it nut proof that way my car didnt decide to go for a joyride across my driveway. In most remote starts there is a hood safety switch that insures that the hood is down before the car will start. I piggybacked off that switch and ran another switch into the shifter. After making my own bracket and using a flap switch from a lawn tractor, the project works perfect. I dont have any pics of it yet, but ill try and get some soon and post them.
