89 trooper vsv pressure regulator queston

I'm trying to track down the path of the pressure regulator VSV electrical connector (Haynes page 56). I was going to set the idle and the book says to disconnect to do so. Problem is, there is only one end of it (the female connector that comes out of the wiring harness). I find a wire with a burned end that grounds under the wiper motor. It appears that this is the other end, but my book does not show it. Any ideas??? Want to resolve this prior to adjusting idle and timing. Thanks
