Hey Rice(er), I just raced a new Civic.

Yup it was a 2006 but not the 190hp Si,no this cat was running hard core in an LX!
He just got it too cause it had a white paper temp tag on it.

So I'm cruising on the highway (turnpike south over kendall drive for the Miami boyz) and I'm doing 70 mph listening to my "initial D mix cd" with my windows down. this white Civic with a Bomex muffler and a "Honda Advanced Racing Team" sticker that covered up the whole side, I mean from front fender to the trunk, two tone white and blue sticker.

I see the civic and think "oh a new civ, time to mess with him.
I shift down, put my windows up and select track 11 on the cd "Dogfight" and I'm off. I pull in close behind him and tailgate him, then I pull off to the side and match him. The guy has his windows up and gives me the finger. I blow him a kiss and honk down three times. He takes off, I floor it (mind you I'm still in 4th) and start pulling, I pull past him a few seconds later at like 95mph but keep going to like 120 to put a few more cars on him......thats it......it was really boring.......damn you Rice(er), I hope you are happy and you owe me 5 bucks for gas now you instigator. :lol:

BTW, track 11 is the shyt and you have not experienced street racing till you race to the beat of Japanese pop-rock with orchestra intro!

i listen to initial d stuff when im watchin initial d...or does that count? either way nice kill. almost every civic i see with a fart can these days don't wanna race.....its driving me crazy...maybe its b/c of my ghetto CAI which is my regualar intake turned upside down with the filter showing lol. it sounds way louder

That's so true, I thought I drove crazy normally - but at night in the rain with eurobeat pumping...that's a whole different league! Something about it does weird shit to your brain.

the new civic si puts close to 200 hp, damn, thats amazing for a 4 cyl and around $20,000 mark, the more i think about it the more i'm starting to like this car, a magazine did some quick mods and gained about 50 hp already, dont remember who it was though, imagine if it had some sort of forced induction s/c or t/c, dam, that'd be one sweet 4 banger for around $20,000 and close to 2,800 lbs, i might get this car in the future, i'm liking it more and more

What about the non SI ones, what are the hp and what do they run? Also, i thought the engine was the same one as the RSX-S, and some mag put a few grand of mods into it and got only a few hp out, not 50

good kill.... Musashi. The new si is a sweet lookin' car. The interior is actually nice too. I'm not sure what kind of 0-60 times they are getting with it yet. I'm sure the honda boys love the car, but for the around 20k mark the srt-4 still ownz.

why dont you just buy a eg hatch for 2500 and spend another 2000 on a h22 swap and go eat any 06 si for 15500 less than one....now doesnt that sound more better.......

pretty much all hondas from the 90s have crappy interiors...but what are you going to do?

also if your racing, you blow your warranty anyways and B series engines are cheaper to replace than if you blew your brand new K20 setup

not sure off the top of my mind, i dont really follow honda, just look it up or something, but i think the base non-si is only like 140 hp or something, anyways i'm pretty damn sure it was around 50 hp on that hp gain for the si, when i find it i'll post it ;)

And, no...i really like the new si, but i swear i dont want "another one of those" civics, that goes for the eg hatches w/ engine swap as well

I like the new civ alot more then the old ones, but i would not buy it. However, if my parents gave me the SI, i wouldn't hold it against them. I may sell it for something more preferable tho :evillol:

I still hate the torque numbers honda puts out tho... that being said, I think it's a nice little grociery getter

miniature GTO ?? thats what the new civic looks like, just squared off at the lights... and the GTO doesn't have the most popular body style...still another ugly civic to me, they don't get much better than the EK chassis coupes

yes, the 06 civic interior is real nice, electric motors are t3h future man! hopefully we'll get to see flying cars in our lifetime ;) and....to the dude with the eclipse in ur avatar, i guess you can say the 06 civic looks like a gto, a lot of cars look like the new civic and gto,..a lot of cars look like eachothers, but imo i think it looks more like its brother the Accord, o well

Yeah, Rice(er) is actually contributing alot lately.

The 06 Si did a 0-60 of 7.2 according to "car and driver" november eddition. The seats look good but the shifter and the e-brake are really small, like rediculously small!
Yes the engine makes 197hp but remember thats at like 8000rpms, and the cheapest I've seen thenew SI for is 23K. with dealer fees and all it adds up to about 27K sign and drive. for that I'd get a Cobalt SS.

the Regualr Civic is a 1.8 liter SOHC 140hp

The only honda I'd ever refer to as sexy would be hte nsx. As far as the profiles not showing up, the admins have been doing a little fooling around with stuff (in an effort to make AF faster and better), that has resulted in a few minor problems. I don't have any issues reading profiles, but if you continue to have problems, let a mod know.
