92 LeSabre-engine stops while driving

Hi, Have read several other posts with similar problems as mine.....
The problem started while the car was running in park, kind of spuddered
then died, started back up after about 10 min. No problems for awhile,
out of no where the engine will just stop, doesn't seem to matter if I am going 2mph or 70. Also noticed the last couple of time this happened that the gas gauge went crazy, said way past full then 1/2 full, and the tank is actually full.. could also feel the gas petal slip? move on it's on...Idels like crazy past 40rpm then will even out and then it dies again, while driving...
So I have had the car in and out of the shop for 5 weeks, mostly in.
There has been no error codes thrown, ever. Had the fuel filter replaced,
tune-up, new module and sensors still hasn't fixed the problem, and it is back in the shop. They can't seem to get the car to do what it does to me. As soon as I get it on the road and put a few miles on it the engine will die!! Anyone know what the problem could be???
Thanks

First of all what module and what sensors? When it dies do you have spark? What do you do to restart, I assume your mechanic asked these questions. No magic bullet here, although the crank sensor is the most problematic part on that car with these type of symptoms, again no secret in the industry, your mechanic would know this.

There is more than one module?? Just told me they replaced the module and kept the old one, and put in a new sensor. The car dies with power,
usually it will start right back up once I get off the road in park. No they really did not ask me any questions, just told them what it has been doing.

Find out what module and what sensor, can't help with a gross lack of info. There a several possibilites with those symptoms, on site diagnosis is the only way here, again crank sensor is the most common cause of these symptoms, but still don't have enough info. BTW, now that you spent money and it is not fixed what do they propose to do about that?

Few basic things about car engines. Will it start? If it starts, will it continue to run, if it runs, does it run properly? Sounds like fuel delivery problem to me. But it could be lots of things. Sounds like your mechanic is guessing by trying a little here a little there costing you money. I suggest you take your car to a Buick dealer and let their techs take a look at a model they are trained to repair. Good luck.

I agree with Maxwedge all the way, except for, "your mechanic would know this". It should be, your mechanic should know this. Some of the immigrant shops don't know a Buick from a Toyota when it comes to troubleshooting a problem. I see a lot of "part changers" in this business. Look for ASE or GM Tech seals on the shop door and a patch on the uniform of the mechanic. There are a few exceptions; however, if they have not had the training on GM cars, you are wasting hard earned dollars changing parts! “Sort of like a monkey taking a leak on cash register, it's going to run into money". (Smokey Yunick - RIP - my friend & mentor)

If you start with youth and skill, and apply the skill to treachery, you end up old, skilled, and treacherous. .

They replaced the main module and the crank sensor.....guess that is not the problem.

Still not clear on what module. Was it the ICM under the coils or was it the PCM? Either one, or both could cause the problem. I suppose someone has checked the MAF & TPS by now, if not they should have! Of course, you should have a code with about everything except for a fuel related problem. I had one that would just cut off at random and found the fuel pump relay was bad. (Not common, but does happen)

What about the fule pump, or the crank shaft sensor. CHeck that.
