Caravan Hose

I thought I needed to replace a leaking water pump, but it seems that it's only leaking from around the top hose. Problem: when I pulled that hose off, the whole "nipple" came off with it. It seems that it broke off of the "housing" that the pump attaches to. Do I need to replace that whole "housing" (which appears to attach across the whole front of my engine)or can I replace that "nipple"? Does it thread down in there, or can I tap a piece into it?
