i am having the same problem with my tranny.. when shifting fron second to third gear the engine races then jumps into gear..also when i am stopped and i hit the gas the throttle drops down and then kicks back up.. it is causing my durango to stall when i shift into reverse.. is it the fuel pump???and TRANSMISSION regulating valve???

I took mine to a reputable D mechanic. They dropped the pan, replaced the filter and adjusted the bands for $300. Shifts like butter now. At the time, I think it was around 80Kmi. The mechanic knew exactly what the problem was and guaranteed that his tranny sevice would remedy the problem. He said most people wait till it's too late.
I got suckered by Jiffy Pube and let them do a "tranny service" for their "special " price of $110. They stick thier machine on the tranny cooler lines and let the tranny pump out the old stuff while putting in the new. Claiming that they are removing any particals that are in the filter. THAT IS BS! It does a good job of replacing all the fluid but does nothing for the filter. Might be an option as a midpoint between full tranny sevice intervals. It made no difference in performance. And the bands need to be adjusted periodically.
