anti lock brake light stays on

My 1996 bravada the anti lock brake warning light stays on, and the brake pedal is a little squisher that normal, any thoughts as what could be wrong.

Needs to be scanned for abs codes and diagnostics.

Yep, call a chain type auto parts store and see if they'll scan your car free then we can talk about the codes.

Auto Zone will scan your problem for free and they have the Chilton books online for most vehicles. If you can't resolve your problem there, then post your codes here.

Don't count on AZ scanners to pick up abs codes.

I would check the abs lines running to the brakes. i f you have an open wire it will short the system causing the light to come on. I would just put some black tape over the light and call it a day depending on the milage though. How long did we drive cars without abs?????
