Check it out, bankspower truck completely destroys a corvette by 5 car lengths.

This is the same truck that set the fastest speed for any street legal truck, 222mph. it's got 735hp and 1300lbs of torque. it also towed it's trailer with all its pit equipment to the salt flats. nice truck, wish i had one (or any vehicle for that matter).

I was talking about the truck, that thing is quicker and faster than a corvette, 1/4 mile in 12.1 seconds at 100+mph. plus you can haul a few tonnes worth of crap and you have use of the bed, it's the perfect sports truck.

You obviously don't apprecate what was done here, it's a sports car being beat by a truck with a diesel engine in it. DIESEL!!! It's just proving that diesel has potential and that it's worth investing time in developing it. It's better than gasoline, that's a fact. The fact that he did it in a truck is even more impressive.

Er.. thats cool and all but a sports car != simply going fast in a straight line therefore beating a sports car in a straight line isn't impressive.
A hemi cuda is also faster than a corvette also in a straight line also...

This has been well known for years, and diesel engines have thier cons as well so I wouldn't say they are inherently better than gas engines.

I know the corvette would be better on the track, the truck wasn't designed to be fast or to turn well. Gale Banks is designing a truck to compete in some sort of endurance racing. It's based on a chevy diesel, it has somewhere in the ballpark of 5-600hp and 50:50 weight distribution. it's pretty cool and I want to find out when it's supposed to be racing.
