spark knock

im was getting some pretty bad spark knock in my 1st gen b16a so i retarded the timing all the way, it helped but i can still hear it sometimes and im getting a code 23 knock sensor error, im runnin 93 octane, anyone know how to get rid of this knock?

the CEL 23 doesnt go off due to knock. it goes off because there is a short or open from the ecu to the knock sensor. if its not the wiring, its either the ecu or the knock sensor that needs replacing.

:iagree: there's a problem w/ the knock sensor because it should adjust for and fix the knock if there was one......

yea you guys are both right, its got the wrong one in there for some F'ed up reason. now for the real challenge, who can help me get one for under 130 bucks??
