valves /lifters adjustment

I have an 89 bronco II that runs fine at first but then as I drive there is a ticking that gets worse and worse. the oil pressure guage bottoms out and oil starts to burn, horse power loss and yet it it still runs but not well. any Ideas on what I should do or if there is a way to find the exact problem
