I have been unfortunate to have broken off the turn signal arm from my 97 GMC pickup and have located replacement and now when I have removed screws holding unit in place I can not move it in any direction. Guessing there is a trick to getting it out. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

My guess would involve removing the steering wheel, which would involve the air bag. Not something I would mess with>

yes, you have to remove the steering wheel and airbag. I had to replace mine to because my wires just broke and solder wouldnt stick very well to them. the best way to do it if your going to do it yourself is to get a Chiltons manual on how to replace it. it worked well for me jsut as long as you dont rush it. took a couple of hours to do mine. keep in mind that you will need a steering wheel puller for the steering wheel.
