Fuel gauge goes crazy

I have an 88 Cherokee pioneer 4.0 6 cyl 4x4. It will run fine for about 30 minutes, but then the gas gauge will go all the way past the fuel line and start to die. If i talk my foot off the gas and the press it hard it will start going back up, I't does it alot if i stop fast , turn left or accelerate fast, and usally after i start the car like 5 or 6 times. then usually it won't start and i have tow ait about a day. it recently had cap,rotor,plugs, wires. There is spark. Anything would be helpful because most of the sensors and the IAC have been changed. It used to idle real high.
