1994 GT Interior lights

Hi all,
I have a 94 GT. Recently I had a remote starter/alarm/keyless entry installed. I know that to do the keyless entry they had to go into the driver's side kick panel for the wiring.
The thing is, everything works fine with the car and the starter/keyless, EXCEPT, my interior lights don't come on unless I turn them on with the dimmer switch. The trunk light works, and the key-in-ignition/headlights-on alarm/dinger thingy works. I'm wondering if they shorted out or damaged my alarm relay thing...I know it controls the lights AND the warning ding. (at least I think it does).
The lights don't come on when you turn the car off and remove the key either.
Basically, the only thing I don't have is interior lights (unless I turn them on manually)...and if I turn them on, the battery saver timer turns them off for me if I forget.
First off, am I correct with the warning dinger controlling the interior lights? and if I am, where is that thing located. I can't find it on the driver's side and I don't really want to start tearing things apart looking for it randomly under there.
If I'm wrong, any thoughts or suggestions as to what might be the issue?
Thanks!!

the dinger thing is buried up under the dash by the firewall. all the fuses ok, or is any blowing on you? electrical can be tricky tracking down, esspecially when modifications have been made in the system.
