98 Rodeo Startup Problem

I have a 98 V6 5pd and it is having problems starting. I'll hold in the clutch all the way and try to start and I just hear one click. Then I turn the key to off and try again and the car starts up. Sometimes I have to try 2-3 times for it to start. Unfortunatly this is only an intermittent problem. Any ideas what is causing this?

This has been a popular problem lately. Your starter is ready to stop working altogether. This is exactly how mine started to fail. Eventually you'll just get the click and it won't start. Replace the starter before it leaves you stranded!

So the starter problem is solved. I went ahead and put a new one in. Getting the exhaust off that thing is a pain in the ass though. Unfortunatly, two of the nuts came off quite stripped so now i have a nice exhaust leak. Hopefully I'll have that fixed by tomorrow.
