Final drive ratio

My used parts outfit tells me that the manual tranny in the 93 Swift is the same as the manual 93 Metro 3 cyl vehicle. But they have a different final gear ratio. My Chilton manual does not give me these specs (ofcourse). Can anybody tell me what the ratios are? Or what I really need to know is just if the Swift ratio is lower. I would expect so since the engine is larger. If a lower ratio, that would be cool for even better milage. Thanks for your attention.

metros have 3 different ratios, xfi is 3.79. normal metro is 4.10, convertible is 4.39 these are the 89-94 ratios. the 89-94 swift GTi has a 4.10 ratio, metro tranny will fit and work but its not as strong

Thanks CRVETT. Just what I needed. Actually I'm installing a 92 Swift manual tranny against a 92 Metro 1 ltr. From your message, it looks like I'll have the same ration. I am not looking for accelleration. Economy is the game here. The Metro tranny has a worn sun wheel brg and no second gear syncro. I could live without the sychro but the differential problem was getting much worse.
