pls help stalling prblms

ive got a problem with my 1996 chevy blazer 4x4 4.3 180k miles on it
the problem is when i drive for a while it starts stalling really bad if u give it gas and dies but once its starts doing it it will do it on every stop light unless you leave it cool off the more you let it cool off the more distance it will drive with no problems i dont have a check engine come on at all and i change the fuel filter yesterday but it keeps doing it ass soon as you drive it for atleast 20 min but it will start right back up every single time. please help me !!!!!!!!!!

I'm not real familiar with your year (96), but when mine (93) did the same thing, it was the ignition module in the distributor.
Basically, you remove the Distributor cap and rotor, and the module is mounted on the inside bottom of the distributor with two screws.
CAREFULLY (the plastic connectors tend to get very brittle) unplug all of the wiring harness connectorsfrom the module, and remove the two screws. Take the module to Auto Zone or your parts store. They can usually test it before selling you a new one. What is happening is your module is crapping out when it gets hot and runs fine when it cools off.
If you do need a new module, they're about $35.00 USD.
DO NOT let the parts counter guys tell you that ignition modules either work or they don't or that heat doesn't affect them. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE TWO OF THESE STUPID THINGS BECAUSE OF INTERMITTENT STALLING.

Actually your 93 and late 95-current distributors use a completely different setup... Instead of an ignition module they use a reluctor and crank sensor... That said...I would look at a full tune up, then the cat converter..

At the point it stalls, turn the ignition off, wait a couple of seconds, and turn the ignition to the on position, does your pump prime?

So are you saying that my 93 doesn't have an ignition module? O.K. but I wonder what I replaced twice that is mounted in the bottom of my distributor??? Is that what you call a reluctor?
The Guys at AutoZone called it an Ignition Module when they sold it to me, but we all know how they are. :screwy:
