AC/Heater controls not responding

'92 accord dx when trying to adjust air temp there is no response. The switch slides fine from hot to cold sides but there is no change in temp. Everthing else works...switching from defrost/dash/floorboards air direction is fine.

Have a friend operate the control while you look under the hood. Does the water valve (on the pipe that disappears through the passenger-side firewall) move?

Im curious about one thing - you talk about a control sliding. In the 92 LX, it's a rotating knob - is the DX different?

The knob that controls the anount of air being blow out of the ducts is a rotating knob...but the one which conrtrols the temp is a sliding one. Go figure...I have no idea why. I will try your experiment and hope for the best. Thanks
