1970 Nova Floor Replacement

Im replaceing the floor in my nova and i wasnt sure what the best way to weld in the new floor is? Do i drill holes and spot eld it like it came or do i run beads on the new floor pans. Also how do i get the under neath of the car to look good because im overlapping the floor pans to be able to weld them better.

I would spot weld it in place first, just to make sure it is square before welding it down completely. Keep in mind with 2 subframes, Nova's get their strength from the driveline tunnel as a structure curve, so weld carefully and well.

In the shop i work in we always weld the panels all the way around. we only butt weld the panels due to fact that if overlap you will have rust in between the overlap you cannot see. which ever way you weld is your choice but when you grind the welds, go to the body shop and by some 3M seam sealer you can buy in a can and use a nice paint brush to apply it. You can san it smooth and make it look like no work has been done.
