cam shaft sensor replacement

i am trying to replace the cam shaft sensor on my 98 lumina 3.1 due to a code saying it is bad. i cant get it out due to lack of room pulling it straight up as it hits the power steering resorvoir....is there a way to get it out without having to pull the whole power steering pump...im not a mechanic, but i try ....

No big deal to remove the pump, just a couple of bolts. Don't need to take the lines off or anything, just unbolt it and tip the whole thing out far enough to clear your sensor.

PS, take the belt off so you can turn the pulley, you have to access the bolts through the holes in the pulley...

There is a plastic clip that holds the power steering lines out of trouble on the back of the motor. Pop the lines out of that clip to give you a little more flexibility in moving the pump out of the way.
