95 88 stalls

I have a 1995 eighty eight LSS. Last night the check engine light came on and the battery light flashed. On the way home it did fine as long as you were driving, but when you would slow down it would bog really badly. When you pushed the gas to take off it would stall unless you accelerated very quickly. My husband replaced the alternator and battery this morning and it still is not working correctly. Once he started it after replacing those things the air conditioner decided to blow hot air instead of cold and the traction control comes on at will, even when it is turned off. Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Should be scanned to start with looking for proper sensor operation. Also could be a sticking /carboned up egr, lots of possibilities here, keep in mind the computer has to relearn it's idle settings after replacing the battery, this may take 1/2 hour of running.

A good starting point is to check for codes. See this site below for directions.

Thats great. I'd LOVE to start there. Been trying to actually.
Problem is, on quite a few '95 88's, like mine, there is a 16 pin OBD 2 connector with the OBD 1 ECM. Seems after searching for hours here, this seems to be the pergatory limbo car, as no one can seem to tell exactly how to extract any codes from it. Even the places that sell scanners can't guarantee or pinpoint the correct scanner for this type of mess. Which leaves the DIY at the mercy of the dealer to diagnose problems. Kinda figured after 10 years this still wouldn't be such a mystery.
Look at the 'troublecode.net' site. Asteriks for '94- '95 vehicles....and with all of those code listings...not ONE for a 1995 3.8L with a VIN K.
Go figure.

My Snap On scanner and Actron 9150 both work on this year GM car. The codes really aren't much different than 93.
