Removing the Torque limiter on a Trailblazer.

I read that there is a torque limiter on the TrailBlazer. Is there any way, like the addition of a chip or reprogram, that you can get around it? I just haven’t been having the same response on acceleration as I use to when I first got my TB

Driving a 2003 TB with about 100,000km(yup im a canuck) on it now.

Its still under extended warranty, so should I bring it back for a tune up or a computer flash?
Any help would be great.

Thanks,

John

Computer flash? Are these needed? I have an 02 (2nd owner) and I haven't had it "flashed" in 2 years (my ownership period).

Nope, there are no tune-up computer flashes... Although there are some updates available but only if you experience a problem with certain component... If you don't have any problems in your two years, don't worry... Besides if something serious comes up, it would be in a form of recall which is free.

Back to the question... I don't see how else to get rid of TM other than reprogramming or a add on chip. TM is put inside the PCM code which need to be changed.

So far, Westers Tune is what I've been hearing that would get rid of TM. Not sure if JetChip removes TM.

Yea, I dont think the Jet chip removes any TQ management, as it only controlls the shift points on the tranny. I would get a Westers if you want to remove the TQ management.

Where would I get a Westers kit? Is there a place on the net where you can order them, or is it a pro install?
