dont know about numbers but ive heard about ppl running stock 10 bolts into the 10's...ya i was shocked...it all depends on the rearend some are different then others even though they are the same...does that make sense....the only true way to find out if it will hold is to push it till is brakes...

You gotta pray that while god was busy forging LS1s he had time to do your 10 bolt as well.

I'm running a "stock" rear in mine...A stock Auburn unit, the stock Saginaw unit that came with the car shelled out at 35k with the little 305 in front of it. The Auburn's were the factory replacement for the Saginaws, which were far too weak for the stock 305.
Right now I am putting out 417 ft/lbs of torque at the crank, through a highly modified 700R4. I don't abuse it and I don't baby it either.
Oh, and the 3rd gen boards are full of very immature children that think they know everythng about everything...Just ask them, they'll tell you so.

My car IS an IROC and they all came with the Saginaw limited slips up until about 88 or 89.

Stock rear end on my T/A. LS1 4th gen.
Was making about 325 ft/pounds at my altitude. Rear end is still in one piece. Not many miles on it though. 29,200.
When it finally is driveable again the rear will be getting new fluids.

If you are going to be putting out real power, you don't want a peg leg (open diff). It will never hook up, just sit there and spin the one wheel all day long.

4th Gens can be pretty much anything depends on gears/engine/year. Generally 93-97 Posi's are auburn and 98-02 are Torsen.

most power i would put through a stock 10 bolt rear end would be about 400hp, i know the torsen units regularly break at bout 450hp. as far as torque, im not 100% sure, but i have heard of them running 10's before. the secret is to set them up right, and stage them right, so that you dont slam the pinion teeth against the ring teeth and chip something. you have to load them to they are already touching and then pour the power on, they tend to live longer that way.
