buying advice request 97-2000 LC

I'm looking to buy a 97-2000 LC. I'm all ears as to which one will last the longest and be the cheapest to repair/maintain. I am a bit partial to the v-8 's 6500# towing but the 97's v-6 does have a strong positive history. I am presently leaning towards the 1999 with the locking dif. Any good advice is welcome .
