my shop said im not getting any juice to my fuel pump but he also told me there was issues with my chassis eclectrical system....

im new to cars but can someone explain to me what the chassis eclectrical system is? and also are fuel pump problems common on 1g gs's?

The power supply to the fuel pump is in two different areas depending on the engine size/model.

The 2.0 has the fuel pump mounted right on the back of the fuel tank and that wire runs on top of the tank then into the back seat on the Right Side Facing back seat panel.

The 1.8 has the pump on top and I believe that you can gain access to the pump via the back seat, I'm told it's right under neath it. Also I believe that wire runs to the same area as the 2.0 goes.

Also I'm not sure if the differences are only between the 2.0 and the 1.8 but also between the years idk.

I would check this wire because when I went to change my fuel pump this wire was fried I had a short in it at one time or another so I would check this or just replace it with a used one from the local junk yard. GL

My 1992 1.8 has the fuel pump accessible from the back of the fuel tank, not the top like he said.

Yeah the way that I explained it was what I was told at one time or another so I assumed that It was right. But when I changed my fuel pump it was accesible from the back of the tank and that was a 2.0. Come to think of it a buddy of mine had a 90' Talon 2.0 and his accessible from beneath the back seat. So I guess it all depends on the year maybe not the size of the engine, I don't know but I still believe that the wire is your problem. GL
