CRX Si options

What are the best exhaust and header options for a stock CRX Si motor? I'm trying to build a street machine, but I can't find any parts from a reliable source. AEM for instance doesn't have hardly anything for a rex.

Huh?? AEM makes plenty for the rex... so do a variety of other aftermarket companies...

When it comes to headers, all Ds are basically the same (with the exception of the older Integra Ds, which will still bolt right up, the holes just wont be perfect)... I personally reccomend a Megan D series header... They are decently priced, but also great quality... My only complaint, is there is no bracket like some of the other headers, so it hangs kinda low.... If you MUST get a higher quality brand name, go with DC Sports... They have the brackets on theirs I believe... As for exhaust, I personally would get a nice axle back exhaust, and get a shop to fab up a center pipe, thats what I did, and I love it... And im running the stock cat (only thing stock in my exhaust)... It sounds nice, no hint of that damn buzz can sound, and the performance is nice...

I would check around on the forums before buying a new header. I picked up a DC sports ceramic header for $60 shipped. As far as exhaust, I have heard good things about the Tsudo exhaust.

go on ebay and type in 88-91 crx header/cat/muffler and they sell combo packs where you get a header 4-2-1 nice chrome get about +10 horse out of it parformance cat gives u a nice deep sound, also get a 4- 4 1/2 inch muffler for about 100 toatl after shipping. bolt the header and cat on they go to a muffler shop and get new pipe from the cat back to your muffler i would get 2 and 1/2 back. i ran the chrome header to a chrome cat then it ys into dual exhuast with 2 and 1/2 back to, 2 ractive 5inch mufflers and man is it deep sounding plus i got about 20 horse out of it.

just keep in mind exhaust only flows as well as the most restrictive area allows for, and losing backpressure is a case of diminishing returns, you want some to promote scavenging, i personally think for a lil 4 banger that doesnt put out all that much power that 5" dual mufflers is a little much, but hey if you really like potato guns i guess...

Was this power proven on a dyno? I tend to have a really hard time believing that an exhaust will net any where close to that much.

and personally I love Thermal Research and Development's exhaust.

For best quality for d16a6 (si) go with DC Sports ceramic coated 4-2-1 header, Cat-co high flow catalytic converter, and either a full DC Sports Cat-back exhaust system or full Thermal Research and Development (R&D) full cat-back exhaust system.

I'm still waiting to hear his goals, this is a main factor. I mean if you plan to go turbo later then you need a totally different exhaust setup.

so I'm assuming he wants to modify his a6 in his stock Si.

Yeah, but a lot of times people buy a header and plan to go turbo 6 months down the road. Thats just a waste. Thats why I was asking his plans, as in long term plans.

To find a complete one is the challenge though, most of the time when they pull the engines in the yards the leave the bottom half right in the car...

I personally love my DC 4-2-1 ceramic, its getting mad old though and the bottom is flat now. I need to replace it and my exhaust, they're both over 5 years old now.

Yeah my 4-2-1 is kinda flat on the bottom too lol
