The heater blower has stopped working totally, fuse checks out ok.The wiring diag i have is useless, does anyone have a copy of a decent one?
The dealership says there is a resistor in the circuit,as you'd expect,,but, i cant locate it,,any ideas, gratefully accepted.

(and me an electrician too )

There is a resistor block that controls the blower's speed (one resistor for each of the first three speeds of the fan). Usually when it goes bad the blower will still run in high. This is in not to say that a bad resistor block ISN'T your problem. On my Rodeo the resistor block is located on the blower housing. :2cents:

Have you replaced the Alternator? Do you have dash lights on? Do you have power at the fuse box for the fan? Could be totally unrelated but.....

alternator was replaced 2 years ago but heater as been ok till recently
however i had the fuse box out yesterday and there is no power at getting to the relevant fuse,,so,, there is something in circuit before the fuse poss a relay??,,the dealer says there is a relay behind the N/S headlamp, but i havent had time to investigate this,

My problem is different. It is definatly related to the Alternator.. I was tracing the wiring expecting to find a faulty wire. No Go. When I unplugged the field supply to the alternator The blower worked. I ordered another alternator. It will be in tomorrow. I am getting really good at removing them. Total time 30 minutes. Your problem could be the same. If you jack up the vehicle remove the passenger side tire you can get to the alternator wiring throuh the rubber boot in the wheel well. Un plug the wire. DO NOT START THE CAR. Turn the key to on and see if the blower works. If it does I beleive its the Alternator.

good luck..
