1988 rover wont stay running

i have a 1988 range rover and i can't keep it running. It will start and run rough for a few seconds and just die ive put in a new distibitor,fuel pump/filter wires/pluges,rotor in the distibator.I washed it and it hasnt ran after that?any help would be great full
