2001 starting problems

I have a 2001 grand am se v6. It has had starting problems since the day I bought it. It seems to have problems firing over. When you turn the key you can hear the car turning over but its not firing. If you press the gas petal it will start. Sometimes it will not catch and start and will just stall. We have had the fuel injector cleaned, new fuel gauge, reset the security(I think we will have this removed or bipassed) as it keeps coming on. WE thought that when it was fixed at the dealership that it would fix the problem. The place I bought it from cleaned the spark plugs, said they took it to the dealership to have all these tests done and it was fine. They said that it must be my key. I used the second one they gave me and there was no change. I have had the spark plugs and wires changed, full tune up. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be or have the same problem.

Welcome to AF!

There are a couple of issues that may be causing your problem. First, have the fuel pressure checked to insure you have adequate pressure to allow the injectors to work properly when cold. Next, have the throttle position sensor checked. It sounds like it may be going bad and causing it not to start. Finally, the temperature sensor can cause starting problems if it is bad since it doesn't send the correct information to the computer telling it that the engine is cold and needs to be enriched. I hope this helps!
