'99 Venture Power door won't unlock

1999 Venture with Power Sliding Passenger Door, 76K miles. Sliding door won't unlock? The lock tab on the door won't budge upward, even though pressing the power unlock switch tries to move it upward. Forcing it doesn't work either. I've definitely pinpointed it to something binding inside the door, if I jiggle the inside door handle just right I can get it to unlock.

Any one else have this issues? How the he** do you remove the door panel so you can get to the locking mechanism?

I have the same problem w/ my 99. I have found that an firm open hand slap on the door panel just aft of the lock works. From the outside recahing around the piilar will work nicely. I've had it to the dealer and it still is intermittent. I'll never buy another one.
