unlinke most of the people on this forum im attracted to non mainstream type vehicles like cars with 28 inch wheels. lowrider is about as mainstream as it gets for me. theres a type of vehicle native to only Houston texas the "Slab", these cars have some old school crages known as Elbows, 83s, 84s and Swangas(2 prong spinner). the cars are 90% done with candy paint, continetal kit with matching wheel and articulated truck lid with neons when the vehicles are in motion the trunk lid waves while the neons light up. i digress no wheel in this style has ever been made in kit form i looked high and low and finally found them

You robbed the astons for those!!!!!!!?? Did you try Peggasus wheels? I've just seen a 2 piece wire wheel kit they have out. They might work for you...

Those are Cragar 30 spoke Star wires. They were very popular in Dayton, Ohio where I grew up. Yep, 30s & Vogues! Good old days! :smokin:

The wire wheels in the AMT '65 Riviera might work as well. I can't find mine plus my camera was stolen so I can't get a picture of them. :(

Uhmmm... this may sound stupid, but have you ever considered scratchbuilding those wheels yourself?

Lots of work, sure, but the result can be rewarding...

I'm currently building a 1:12 Supermoto and there simply are no 17'' spoked wheels available, so I had to build them myself.
It took me about 6 hours a wheel (and a lot of courage to cut down a set of Ducati wheels a friend gave me)

I think it turned out pretty ok. Not that I had an option, anyway...

There's also info on this on www.modelersite.com (http://www.modelersite.com), don't recall which issue (search for wirewheels)

Cheers,

Tiago

i am in love with those wheels. i wish i had pictures of my 84 lincoln towncar i just sold, it was candy red over black with those same kinda spokes on some fat whitewalls. i was always getting made fun of for wanting to be a mike jones wannabe, lol.
