Yukon XL Tire Wear

I was told by a dealer today the inside tire wear was normal for a heavier vehicle like a Yukon XL or Suburban and they needed to be rotated every 6k miles. Is there any truth to this? Seems a little strange to me. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Rotation does help tires last longer especially on heavier vehicles. Inside edge wear can be caused by too much toe out or negative camber. If the tires were never rotated, then you can get some wear from the tires turning.

I try to rotate every 6K - 7.5K for good tire wear.

I own a 90 GMC K1500 Sierra that I bought new. It has 115K and I just put my 3rd set of tires on it about 5K ago. I got 55K each out of the 1st two sets. Factory alignment and rotated every 6K - 7.5K.

Well I bought a new Yukon and took it from Houston to San Francisco. When I returned, my tires were worn on the inside. Found out that the factory did not align the vehicle after assembly. So, judge for yourself.
