ecm problems

I have a 1993 s10 2 wheel drive with a 4.3 I have a bad ecm gm in their infinate wisdom changed the numbers on the ecms in 2000 I have ordered what is supposed to be the right ecm from fieher gmc in hamilton ohio it doesnt fix the truck it runs but gets 2 miles the gallon and black smoke rolls out I took it to gm and they had the truck for 2 weeks put another ecm in it still doesnt work gm checked the wiring it is apparently ok anyone with suggestions??????

black smoke and 2 miles to the gallon? If it's not your injectors, more than likely you have a bad ring... Have they done a compression test?
