hey, sorry if this question has been asked before.. but i couldn't find any back info on it.. anyhow..
i have an '02 grand am gt w/ the moonsoon (unit & amp)..
and my back 6x9's busted, so i took them out.. and i tried
to replace them with a cheap pair for the time being, and
it won't work out... according to places like best buy &
circuit city, as well as Local car audio places, i can't get
after market speakers for my car? i either need to get the
factory ones that were in there, or get the whole system
(unit, amp, speakers, wires) replaced... I was told that its
cause aftermarket systems/speakers are designed for the
4-ohm impedence, and that my car is a 2-ohm impedence..
So i understand why it won't work. I can get Infinity speakers
with a 2-ohm impedence, im just not sure as to if these will
work because of the wire-setup from the speaker to the amp
and such.. my question is has anyone ever replaced their
rear 6x9 2-ohms with another 2-ohm? or is there another
solution? I'd hate to go and spend $62.00 per speaker from
the dealer for the paper cone to just bust again...
this is what my speaker looks like, and that i need
something with 2 positive & 2 negative terminals:
