Muffler

Hey guys,

Im getting a muffler exhaust and I would like ur guys' opinions on what u think. I think its a fair deal and within my price range. I took pictures of it to a muffler shop (G & S Muffler) to see what they thought and said it would be suitable for my car which is a 1999 Eclipse RS. Do u guys think this would sound like shit or...? Just lemme know what u think. once again its a knock off so most likely no one will be able to tell you what its gonna sound like. The only way you will be able to tell what it sounds like is if you buy it and put it on period. But why not wait till you can afford a name brand or custom catback exaust?? just keep that $72 that your going to spend on that muffler and save up for a catback. You will save money in the long run.

well all my friends have gotten mufflers such as the one i showed and everything has worked out fine with it so i think ima just see how it goes i already ordered it so theres nothing i can do now as it is ill see how it goes....im sure the sound wont be THAT bad it wont be the best sounding but it wont be horrible

I think it's a huge waste of money to buy a carbon fiber muffler tip, when you won't even be able to see the carbon fiber unless your looking under the car. And no, it won't be less weight because all it is is a layer of carbon fiber over a regular muffler.

Is having a Custom made exhaust system out of 2 1/2 pipe at a exhaust shop the same thang as just flat out buying a catback system??

Depends on if the shop has The ability to make mandrel Bends. Most Exhaust shops just use Crush bent Pipes. I had a muffler shop do a 3inch crush bent system with an Apexi N1 Muffler on my old TSI. I liked it better than my Mandrel Bent Tsudo that I have on my Eclipse.

Why do you like the old one better? Just wondering...mine is crush bent.

well if it is a crush bent exhaust then its no longer a 3 inch cuz when they crush it, it restricts the rest of the exhaust i beleive

The only reason that I liked my old system better was the sound. There were no resinators on my crushbent system and the car had a pretty wicked sound without to much drone. My Tsudo system is too quiet for me.
