2004 Taurus CD Holder Jammed in Console

Wife inserted the CD holder backwards. It will not reject and does not respond well to prying. This is one of those that has the CD holder in the floor console between the driver and passenger. You remove the cartridge, fill it up with about 5 CDs and pop it back in.
Do I need to remove the floor console?? If so, how?
Any other ideas?
Thanks.

She must be a strong woman...
Anyway, I checked mine if it is possible to jam it in backwards, and it can be done (with a lot of effort). Before the dismantle of the console and the player unit, I would drill holes in the two top ends of the CD holder cartridge (carefully, at the ends(!) where the bit going thru would not touch the CDs and the individual plastic DC sleeves/holders. Insert a bent end (1/4") (coathanger wire) hook in those holes, and try to pull the cartridge out that way. There doesn't seem to be any other way to get leverage to pull it out. Once it's out I'd clean out the shavings of the drilling, and seal the holes with clear tape or black silicone, and tell the wife not to ever touch it again.

Looks like two very basic "fixes" but very good ideas. Thanks. I will give them a try, one at a time.
