Will a broken tps make my car run like poo? My tps is broken and the car has a very irratic idle and really sucks on the road.

Throttle Position Sensor... I'm guessing it would cause your car to act like that... Should be a thread on how to fix that.

Take a flathead screwdriver, put it on the small rivet-looking screws and smack it with a hammer to put grooves in the screws. Then back the screws out to get the tps off the throttle body. You'll most likely have to do the same thing to get a replacement one from a junkyard. Save those screws you made the notches in and just screw the tps back into place.

you'll need a multimeter to adjust the tps for the correct settings. correct me if i'm wrong.

first off, if you decide to take off the tps, get bolts dont put back on the screws you took off. second measure the volts of the middle red/blu wire. it should be .5 at closed throttle and 4.5 at open throttle. now if you want you can do it at the ecu, i think its like pin C8 but idk somebody confirm that, i havent looked at the wiring diagram in months

Just a slight correction WOT voltage should be around 3.9v for some reason honda's TPS's don't go the full 4.5v.

Also when testing move the throttle slowly and watch the voltage. Make sure there are not any throttle positions that give voltage drop's (flat spots) The voltage should increase/decrease smoothly.

.49 when closed. 4.5 when open. numbers are approximate. i always get readings of 4.5 when i do WOT tps voltage measurements. 3.9 looks too low..................... low battery? short in the wiring? inaccurate multimeter?

I am first to admit I was wrong and I am. I got my numbers wrong 3.9v is for the map. TPS is 4.5v Sorry:(
