Wind Noise 2004 Trailblazer

I bought a Brand New 2004 Trailblazer last year. It now has 29,000 easy driving kilometers on it. Since new I can hear the wind and outside noises very loudly in the cab of the vehicle. I have had it into the GM dealership 2 times. They adjusted the sunroof, moved the roofrack crossbars back but nothing seems to work. At 120 KPH it sounds like I am driving in a wind tunnel with all the windows down. Has anyone out there had the same problem and if so have you rectified the problem.

I have the same issue, but learned to live with it. I think it's an inherent characteristic of TBs.

I had the same issue with my 02 TB. I asked the dealer and of course there is nothing wrong with it. So, I gently, very gently, bent the tops of the doors toward the body and this little movement helped rid all but the strongest side winds of about 45+mph. It gets scary going 75 on flats with a 30+mph side wind pushing you.

Erik, interesting...how are you bending the doors to help with the wind noise and which door, the front, rear, left, right?

I bent the front drivers and pass doors towards the body about 1/8in or less. Just grab the tops and gently pull down with the door open. Worked for me!

I also heard the the wheel wells are hollow and should put some sound proof stuff there to silence it a bit...

really? Didnt know that. If/when I use sound deadener, I will make sure to put some there as well!

check weather strip around doors
it moves out of place and you'll get noise - does that a lot on chev cars and trucks
