I warped my head on my 89 4dr civic. I got a new and then put it on. I got in and crunk the car up. I was happy cause took a little long to get the new head. Well i forgot that the radiator hoes busted so i turned the car off put the new radiator hose on and went to crank it back up and it didnt even turn over. So i bought a new starter and still dont turn over anyone got any suggestions?? Any would be nice.

Check your grounds. Maybe one came loose... like the one to the thermostat housing... since you did replace the hose and had to put all that stuff back together... GL

Yeah check your grounds for sure. On a side note, 91 Civic why don't you make a progress post for you mod list and some pictures. Your mod list is longer than all three post lol

uh, its still going to crank even if the timing is off. The start gets voltage directly from the battery, and then has its own ground. so its either in the wiring, or ignition. maybe your battery died.

i konw hte car will still crank with the timing off. im just curious as to what the timing is because he makes it sound like he did this himself

measure at the starter to see if you are getting battery volts. then next i would put on a remote start and see if that makes it start.

why in the world would you try it with a remote start? might as well just try to hot wire it for free.
but yes check for voltage at the starter, but make sure you do it with the key turned all the way.

because what if his solenoid is bad ? a remote starter will show that. im not talking about a push button start in the car or anything. they sell at automotive stores push button starters that you can use to start the car from the engine bay, its just a push button switch and 2 wires with clamps on them.

I dont know how but my battery is dead now
I just looked and my alternater belt was off
So i think when i did have the car cranked befor it killed my battery.
Dont know what to say bout that
except anyone know where i can get a cheap battery from.

aww these girls were troubleshooting and bickering and it turnsout to be a dead batt :) dude got a local battery manufacturer nearby? if so if u know any1 that works there u can prolly get a battery for about $16. i got a exide and a deka battery in arms reach and employees get about 75% off for a reused.
