Cold engine K&N?

when i start my 2.7 liter tacoma in the cold, it sputters and stops. i have to restart and let it warm. i installed a K&N intake, is anyone else experiencing this with the intake. once warm the engine response and runs fine

Did you install the Mass Air Flow meter in the K & N intake? If you didn't that is probably the problem. Not sure you gain anything by adding a K & N intake. FWIW.

MAF is in, but it still does'nt idle right in the morning. if though the MAF is off the vehicle does not run at all. just for others to know

I know this is an old post..but I hope you're still checking it. I have a 22RE engine & have been contemplating puttin in a K & N or some hi-throughput intake. Other than this cold start roughness....did you see the gains you were hoping for??? I'm afraid it could be a very expensive waste of time.
