Walbro 190 direct replacement?

I was under the assumption that the walbro pumps were direct replacements for the stock fuel pump. I tried doing it myself but my driveway is a bit slanted and the car fell off the jack (whoops). I took it to a dealer to have them put it in (I was having the clutch master replaced also) and they told me it would require a new pump housing and it would cost me $700(!?!?). I'm pretty sure that is BS but I wanted to ask all of your professional opinions.
Oh yeah, they still charged me $88 for this knowledge.

Its a direct replacement, you can reuse the housing.

I did. I had it in hand when I tried doing it. I figured it wouldn't be a problem for some licensed techs to do it. I just wanted a sanity check.
I might try calling them out on it but I probably won't get anywhere. I actually had to drop my car off again today because after they changed the clutch master cyl, I still had to pump it to get it to disengage. I probably shouldn't have them do the pump now that I think about it...

no lol, i would make them give you an 88$ credit on your master cylinder too. Print out information and show them that they were wrong so they owe you money lol.

I'm not sure if you spiffy "4g63" guys have the same in tank pump that I have but... When I swapped my pump the 255 was like a half inch longer than the stock one. It to would NOT fit in the stock housing. I had to modify the housing for it to work. Okay so this is my AWESOME picture of how I altered the housing bracket.
