Looking to improve the handling of my Regal GS 2000. I was thinking of replacing the stock coil springs with a set of 2005 Buick Allure. (I read that they are 20% stiffer). Does anyone know if they will even fit? I am also looking for replacement struts to go with the coil replacement. With the torque this car has, I find the car wanders on hard acceleration. Thanks

the wandering your talking about is tourqe steer....the steering wheel seems to pull under hard acceleration...not much you can do about that....it sounds like you want to get a lowering kit....the springs in your car will basically give it the height, not firmness....i think you want to get stiffer struts it will help it handle better and a lower profile tire is better

I agree with RegalFriend. You are better off getting aftermarket struts if you can find any better than the OEM struts. And if you use a lowering kit like from Eibach, the problem with that is a lot of people complain about a pogo or bouncing effect when going over bumps or rough road. That requires a mod to the strut mounts and bushings.
The Buick Allure is Canada's version of the LaCrosse. To answer your question neither the springs or struts can be used on your Regal GS. The Lacrosse and Allure also supposedly have a new leveling system built into the suspension.
