first thing im working on is the grill. It’s pretty good. But those molded on chrome headlights need to go!!.
So I drilled them out and installed some lenses.

I'm glad you're building this car. I've thought many times about buying it but have been worried about it's quality and detail. I'll finally get to see what can be made of this kit. I know you will make the best out of it.
I'm looking forward to following this thread.

Hey JT,
What did you use as replacement lenses? I am working on a 70 GTO that has VERY similar headlights, and I was planning on doing the same thing. I bought a 69 Firebird kit for the headlight lenses though. Is that what you did? Thanks man,
Erick --

Hey Erick,
the lensies I think were from a 62' Bel Air. but lenses from any car will work.

When you do the spark plug wiring it looks so "natural"...is there a secret to posing them, is the wiring flexible to th epoint that it won't spring back?

lol yeah they do come in the kit. its part number 43, for the stock engine. they are on the same parts tree as the carb.

I agree, it wouldn't look right with such beautiful exterior and a dirty engine bay!

i already added some rust into the engine. like on the air cleaner. you can see it in the pic. but thats just normal wear for an old car.

Hey James, how did you make the battery terminal ends? It looks like the wire's actually crimped into it...
For the battery clamps I take some small diameter solder, (for electronics), flatten it with a hammer and shape it using a knife and file. Then make a hole in it. , and on the other end make a hole so you can sliide the wire into it
On the battery sand off all the molded on stuff, and install 2 straight pins in as terminals. And file the ends of them flat.
Then just place the clamps over them and you’re done!
